BRIGHTER DAYS:
Important Lessons for Women Who Want to Boost Their Confidence, Resilience, and Courage: Brighter Days
🆕(5th Anniversary Edition with a new preface)🆕
Five years ago, I wrote Brighter Days: 88 Most Important Lessons Learned in Life for Women Who Want to Increase Their Confidence, Resilience, and Courage. It was born out of a time of deep reflection, healing, and hope after facing one of the most challenging seasons of my life—a battle with cancer and a series of health issues that forced me to pause and reflect. In that quiet reflection, I felt a deep calling to create something meaningful, something that could outlive me. I wanted to leave behind a guide for my daughters, filled with the most important lessons I had learned in life, so they would always have my voice, my love, and my wisdom to lean on.
I wrote Brighter Days as a reminder of the obstacles I’d overcome, but more importantly, as a guide to rediscovering hope, joy, and purpose. Because I believe that no matter what we’ve been through, we are all searching for brighter days—and we deserve to find them.
This journey has been transformative. Over the past thirty years, I’ve shifted everything—how I eat, dress, think, and even how I handle life’s challenges. And yet, the emptiness I once felt didn’t truly fade until I turned inward, acknowledged my gifts, and embraced the happiness within.
What I’ve learned is that every day, a version of me fades away, bringing me closer to the woman I am truly meant to be. The person you once knew? She no longer exists. She’s just a sketch of the masterpiece I’m becoming. And your growth? It’s just as inevitable.
Now, five years later, I’m wiser, stronger, and incredibly grateful to have walked alongside so many courageous women on their healing journeys. Their stories have inspired me to release this special 5th Anniversary Edition of Brighter Days, with a brand-new preface and expanded versions of the original 88 lessons. These lessons are even juicier, more relatable, and more aligned with the woman I’ve become and the powerful stories I’ve been privileged to witness.
I want to invite you to take a peek into my life, walk with me through the lessons that shaped me, and rediscover hope and purpose along the way. Brighter Days isn’t just a book—it’s a journey, a mirror, and a map back to yourself. It’s a love letter to your future self, reminding you of your power, your worth, and your ability to rise.
Let’s walk it together.

Secrets Don’t Include Mom: How to Talk to Your Kids About “Good” and “Bad” Secrets
🏆 Winner of the International Impact Book Award – Children’s Education – Educational Storybooks for ChildrenCategory!🏆
Children face potential dangers every day, and one of the most important tools we can give them is the ability to understand the difference between good and bad secrets. Secrets Don’t Include Mom is a beautifully written, gentle story that helps children navigate this sensitive topic with love, confidence, and clarity.
When Valentina sees her friend Peter being bullied, she feels confused and upset. The older boys tell her it’s a secret—she shouldn’t tell anyone. Like many children, Valentina struggles with what to do. But with the help of her trusted friend Lucy, Valentina learns the difference between fun secrets, like a surprise party, and harmful secrets that should always be shared with a safe and trusted adult.
This story is not just about secrets—it’s about empowering children to speak up, trust their instincts, and understand that some things should never be kept in the dark, especially when it comes to their safety. Teaching children to recognize harmful secrets and speak up can protect them from predators and ensure they have the confidence to ask for help when needed.
Through the comforting analogy of the big white elephant in the room—something no one wants to talk about—this book guides children through essential conversations about trust, safety, and communication, helping them understand that their voice matters, and that sharing important feelings with a loving adult can keep them safe.
Secrets Don’t Include Mom is an award-winning, interactive resource that’s perfect for parents, educators, and caregivers who want to create a safe, open, and supportive space where children feel heard and valued. When children feel safe enough to speak about what matters, they experience more peace, love, joy, and ease—and that’s how we start to change the world.
Order your copy today and help your child build the courage to speak up! All the series is Available in English and Spanish.

All Families Are Not the Same: How to Talk to Your Kids about DivorceÂ
In All Families Are Not the Same, Valentina discovers that her parents are getting a divorce. She feels overwhelmed with emotions and turns to her friend Lucy, who helps her understand that, no matter what, her parents will always love her. Lucy helps Valentina navigate her feelings and understand that this is NOT her fault. She learns what to expect after the divorce and that families can live in different homes and still be a family.
The story uses the analogy of the big white elephant in the room—something no one wants to talk about—to help children understand and process complicated topics. This approach helps children feel less isolated and more supported in expressing their feelings.
When children don’t have the opportunity to express their emotions, it can lead to difficulties in emotional regulation, increased risk of mental health issues, and challenges in forming healthy relationships. Suppressing emotions can also trigger a stress response in the body, leading to various physical and mental health problems. That’s why All Families Are Not the Same is designed to help children open up about their feelings, encouraging healthy emotional expression from an early age.
This book is part of the Valentina and Her White Elephant series, which touches on difficult subjects like divorce, death, and secrets. These books offer a gentle and supportive way for families to talk about tough topics, providing prompts and guidance to help parents and children engage in meaningful, open discussions.

Where Did Grandma Go? : How to Talk to Your Kids about Grief
Losing a family member can be one of the most confusing and painful experiences a child can go through. In Where Did Grandma Go?, Valentina faces this heart-wrenching reality when her beloved Grandma passes away. She has so many questions: “Where did Grandma go?” “Is she coming back?” “Can we go there too?”
With the help of her wise elephant friend, Valentina learns that it’s okay to be sad, to cry, and to miss the person who has passed. Through this story, children are taught that grief is a natural response to loss, and it’s okay to express those feelings openly. Valentina discovers that even though Grandma is out of sight, she will always be with her—in her heart and in her memories.
When children lose a loved one, their grief process is unique and influenced by their age and development. They may express their sadness, anger, anxiety, or confusion in different ways, from crying to wanting to play. It’s crucial to create a safe space for them to express their feelings, answer their questions honestly, and provide comfort and support. This story helps children understand that grief is a journey, and that it’s okay to feel a wide range of emotions during this time.
Where Did Grandma Go? is part of the Valentina and Her White Elephant series, which touches on complex topics like grief, death, divorce, and secrets.
